Voter Registration

Are you registered to vote?

You can check your voter registration on the North Carolina State Board of Elections Website: Public Voter Search.

Registration must be received 25 days prior to the election. To vote in the November 8 general election, your voter registration must be received not later than Friday October 14 5pm.

Use this link and follow the directions: Register to vote.

Do you need to update your voter registration?

You need to update your voter registration if you have a new address, changed your name, or want to change your party affiliation. Print out the voter registration form from the Wake County Board of elections, fill it in with your current information, print, sign and mail to:

Wake County Board of Elections
PO Box 695
Raleigh, NC 27602

Please remember that change of voter registration follows the same rules as the initial voter registration: the form must be mailed before the voter registration deadline (25 days before each election). North Carolina has done away with provisional ballots, so if you have changed your address, but not updated your voter registration, you will not be able to vote in your new precinct.
