What is a precinct?

A precinct is a geographical area within the county. Each precinct has a polling place where citizens of the precinct go to cast their vote. Precincts are defined by the county Board of Elections, which for Wake county is "Wake County Board of Elections".

As of June 2016 there are 202 precincts in Wake county.

Within the area, we on this website refer to as North Wake county, are 29 precincts in three districts.
